Inspiration.........How Do You Find Your Style?
The most challenging dilemma most homeowners face is to try and figure out what their decorating style is. The solution is easy and fun........make a cup of tea, grab some decorating magazines and starting pulling out pages of rooms that speak to you. Look at the entire photo - is it the lamp that you like? the positioning of furniture? the window treatments? Be sure to look at the entire page and continue to keep setting aside looks that grab your attention.
Don't forget ideas for flooring, appliances, accessories - try and cover all aspects of the room you are working on. Once you feel you have a good representation, then spread all your pages, paint chips, fabric swatches out on a table and you will begin to see your room come to life! If you want to take it a step further, make your own "Vision Board" from a file folder- glue all your inspiration for your room on the file folder and you now have a plan of action!
Paint.... Makes Change Quick & Easy
Paint, as we all know, is the easiest and most cost effective way to transform a room. Paint can take a dark out of date room and make it into something exciting and you don't even have to purchase new furniture or accessories! Just make sure that you select a color that highlights your room and shows it off to it's best advantage. You will be amazed at the transformation before you! You may even find that that piece of artwork from another room would look much better with the new paint color.

Here is a Tip.....
When you are selecting your paint colors be sure to select the color in the daylight with the blinds or window coverings open to let in natural light. Select an array of color swatches at your favorite paintstore and bring them home . Be sure to select the color in daylight with the blinds or window coverings open to let in the natural light. I always like to move the paint chip around the room so you can see how the light effects the color on each wall.
